Five hundred years ago, Flower-Fruit Mountain was wreathed in mist and rosy clouds. The Seven Great Sages swore a blood oath, wielding the principle of fairness as their blade, and led the myriad demons in a rebellion against Heaven.
In the end, some died and others scattered, leaving only the Great Sage Equal to Heaven trapped beneath Five Elements Mountain, listening to the wind and swallowing rain.
Five hundred years later, he wears the tightening fillet and sets out on the journey west. His past is all smoke and dust.
The road to fetch the scriptures stretches on without end. Is it a game laid out by Buddhism and Daoism, or another reckoning with the fairness they once sought?
