I’m the Emperor, and I’m Going to Rebel

Beneath the imperial robes, everyone is a puppet. The court is full of high officials, but they are no loyal ministers. They are an iron curtain of vested interests that has held sway for two hundred years. Any emperor who tries to get his hands on military power or tax revenues will “die of illness” from a red pill or drown in Taiye Lake. They use ancestral laws as chains, trapping the Son of Heaven on the dragon throne and slowly turning the Great Ming into an empty shell.

The people are suffering terribly, and disaster is close at hand. I will no longer sit on this throne! I will smash this puppet’s seat with my own hands and cleanse the court with blood and fire. Either I’ll stride through the Hall of Literary Glory with the Imperial Sword in hand, or they can choose another ruler to “die suddenly.”

They say you can control the nobles in the name of the Son of Heaven, but what if the Son of Heaven becomes a noble himself?! I will not only overturn this murderous game, but rebuild the realm and restore China. I, the emperor of the Great Ming, will defy heaven and change my fate! Your support is what keeps me writing, and I’ll do my best to tell every story well!
