Lu Xiaozhu, an outstanding graduate student at the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, transmigrates to the age of ancient tribes after working herself to exhaustion. She wakes in the body of a girl named Lu, then changes her name to Lu Xiaozhu. The tribe has just suffered a bloody conflict, leaving barely more than fifty elderly, weak, and injured people. They doubt their young leader. While searching for a new place to settle, Lu Xiaozhu rescues Awu and his grandparents, and gains a mysterious System called the Spirit Book.
As she leads her people in building a home, Lu Xiaozhu faces countless challenges. Jealous of her progress, other tribes repeatedly launch raids. The harsh environment and primitive society demand that she build a powerful civilization in a short time. Disagreements over how to develop the tribe lead to misunderstandings with some of her people, who question her motives. Every victory comes at the cost of injuries and deaths among the tribe.
But Lu Xiaozhu refuses to back down. She uses the Spirit Book to acquire skills, leading her people to build houses, pave roads, farm, establish all kinds of facilities, and introduce new systems. Awu and his elder brother Shan become the tribe’s pillars of strength, while each member of her family contributes their own talents to its development. Awu also falls in love with Lu Xiaozhu, becoming a great general who helps her expand the tribe’s territory. In the end, through everyone’s efforts, the tribe flourishes and the light of an ancient civilization shines.
