Dare you look me in the eye?
When Yin Man's magician's hat drops, no one knows whether a white dove or a poison-tipped card will fly out next. She walks across the ruins on shattered glass, grinding her bloodstained heels over an injured person's fingers without so much as raising an eyelid. Someone crawls toward her, begging for supplies, but she crouches down and presses a card to their throat, slowly showing its face. “Care to guess? King of Hearts. It means death.”
The way out you imagined is merely a red carpet she laid with corpses; the supplies you snatched were already marked as “obstacles.” Before the gasps in the livestream comments have even faded, she turns to the camera with a faint smile. “The next volunteer is you.”
The world's livestream comments fill with horrified exclamations, but she only curls her lips at the camera. “Want to see the final trick? The next volunteer, it's your turn.”
Don't look back. Her shadow has already fallen over the ruins behind you, and her blood-scented breath is brushing the back of your neck.
The finale is really unexpected. I didn't expect the heroine to do this. The pace is fast and not draggy. However, I hope that the heroine will have a physical entity again later. After all, she should also experience the new world.
