Spirit Guardians of Qingdeng Town: Tales of the Occult

Lin Yanci, a disciple of the Xuanqing Temple, descends the mountain carrying his family’s Spirit-Suppressing Lamp and half a copy of the Record of Identifying Malignant Spirits. As soon as he arrives in Linzhou, he encounters a string of cases in which high school students are visited in their dreams: a vengeful red-robed spirit is hunting them down, and three classmates have already died suddenly in their nightmares. He uses a green lantern to guide souls and talismans to send them on their way, only to discover a black wooden token belonging to the sinister Yin Puppet Sect.

As the investigation deepens, bizarre incidents erupt one after another: ghosts trap people in a garage, and a corpse-oil curse strikes a hospital. The Yin Puppet Sect’s plot to create living corpses and open the gates to the underworld gradually comes to light. Seeking the truth behind his father’s disappearance and the complete Spirit-Suppressing Lamp, Lin Yanci joins forces with forensic doctor Chen Mo and tomb raider Wang Pangzi to venture into Ghostcry Ridge. They brave illusions and battle mountain demons. Then, on the Ghost Festival, the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month, they confront Zhao Kui, an enforcer of the Yin Puppet Sect infused with the remnant soul of the Lord of a Hundred Ghosts.

He uses thunder magic to break evil and the broken lamp to hold off his foes, unaware that a fourth fragment of the Spirit-Suppressing Lamp and an even greater danger are quietly awaiting him in an ancient tomb beneath East Lake…
