Lin Mo, an ordinary programmer struggling in the city, suddenly awakens one day to the ability of "memory ferry": he can sneak into other people's subconscious minds, modify fragmented painful memories, and help them get out of the haze. With this "golden finger", he accidentally met Su Wan, a pianist who had closed her heart due to childhood trauma, and used his ability to "heal" her pain time and time again. The two of them went from strangers to ambiguous, and Lin Mo gradually indulged in the aura of "savior".
However, as Su Wan's memory became more and more "perfect", she began to experience frequent memory gaps and hallucinations; at the same time, Lin Mo's abilities backfired - his own memory began to fragment, and he could not even remember the details of his first encounter with Su Wan. Until one time when his ability went out of control, Lin Mo saw a scene in Su Wan's subconscious that subverted cognition: Ten years ago, it was the negligence of young Lin Mo that caused Su Wan to encounter the life-changing accident; and his "memory ferry" ability was not an "awakening" at all, but a "compensation tool" accidentally "given" to Lin Mo by Su Wan's father (a scholar who studies brain science) using experimental residues to save his daughter.
When the truth was revealed, Lin Mo's abilities completely disappeared, and Su Wan also regained his complete memory. Standing on the ruins of "reality", the two of them blame each other, or face the regrets of ten years ago together? This romance in the name of "rescue" eventually turned into a two-way journey about "forgiveness" and "self-salvation."
