Three Kingdoms: From Refugee to Above the Emperor

The land lies barren for a thousand miles, and I too am a fugitive as lowly as an ant. While heroes vie for the realm, I will build a new order for the people.

In the early years of Chuping, Xuzhou became a living hell. Chen Wang lost his loved ones amid mountains of corpses and seas of blood, and was separated from his younger sister. From that moment on, he swore to become the fiercest wolf in this age of chaos.

He formed the “Iron Brambles” among the refugees, maneuvering among the warlords and drawing on their strength. Liu Bei praised his benevolence, Cao Cao feared his ruthlessness, and Sun Quan dreaded his cunning.

While the world believed he aspired to become a marquis and general, he implemented the “Iron Laws” in southern Jing Province, curbing the powerful clans, equalizing the land, and opening schools to children of humble families.

While the world suspected he meant to carve out a kingdom for himself, he resisted Cao Wei in the north and cowed Eastern Wu in the east, encroaching on territory with “fortresses” and weakening the foundations of the state through “commerce.”

At last, when the realm was united, the people begged him to ascend the throne.

But Chen Wang stood atop the walls of Luoyang and burned the Nine Tripods with his own hands, his voice thundering across the land:

“The age of emperors ends today! This realm belongs to all the people!”

It turned out that every step he took was not meant to make him an emperor.

It was to ensure that, from then on,

there would be no emperors in this world!
