The story takes place in an imaginary modern multi-ethnic republic. A new type of regional war that has lasted for many years has pushed society to the brink of collapse. The protagonists such as Yuri, Emma, and Simon come from different backgrounds and are forced to become fellow travelers in troubled times. They complain to each other and help each other to keep warm. The first volume focuses on how they struggled to survive under heavy fire and absurd policies, and used jokes and friendship to defy fate. The second volume has a multi-line narrative, describing how each of them faced the absurdity of the power group and the system, and had to face death, betrayal and disillusionment. In the collision of each person's personality, humorous conflicts broke out, and they gradually insisted on themselves. In the third volume, all the branches converge: the war reaches its most chaotic stage. In order to protect what they love and their ideals, the main characters take risks and overthrow absurd leaders, and use actions to ask, 'How can peace be sustained? ' The book ends with a climax that combines absurdity, black humor and warmth. Even with small victories, the protagonists laugh at themselves and look at the troubled times.
