Alone in the World, Defying All

Imagine a world where every person’s very “existence” has value, quantified and assessed by a mysterious organization called the “Celestial Balance Council” as their “existence valuation.” Those with high valuations are heaven’s favored children, blessed with good fortune and able to attain success, wealth, and love with ease. They are the center of the world. Those with low valuations are born unlucky, their efforts going to waste. They’re the forgotten scraps at the edges of the world. The protagonist, Ling Hao, is an “valuation remnant” whose rating is infinitesimally close to zero, an ultimate orphan not even worthy of being “exploited” by the world.
