Senior Year: I Awaken by Devouring Beasts from the Classic of Mountains and Seas

The protagonist, Li Muming, comes from the modern era and transmigrates into the body of a high school senior with the same name in the year 2099. The original owner was mocked by his classmates for having “no awakening potential.” After he unexpectedly collapsed during a simulated strange-beast training exercise, Li Muming, who came from forty years in the past, was reborn in his body. He brings with him a modern cultural understanding of the Classic of Mountains and Seas, rather than this world's “survival manual” view of it. During his first field exercise outside school, he encounters the low-level strange beast Fei. On the brink of death, he accidentally swallows its crystal core and awakens the “Touch of Decay”.
