In 2073 AD, mankind's over-exploitation of "star core energy" caused a global energy imbalance, and 70% of the earth's surface was covered by "gray fog". Gray fog will not only slowly corrode metal and degrade buildings, but also give birth to "aberrants" - creatures transformed by energy radiation. They lose their minds, feed on living creatures, and have the ability to evolve rapidly. At the same time, the "clean zone" that is not shrouded in gray fog is extremely short of resources. The "Westwind Temporary Camp" on the edge of the plain where bioengineering graduate student Wei Feng is located is a small survivor stronghold transformed from an abandoned highway service area.
