Core Premise

In the year 2149, in New Vault City, humanity uses the “Neural Web” to establish a shallow connection between consciousness and the internet. Society is divided into three tiers according to “brain-computer compatibility”: the upper tier, the “Webweavers,” monopolizes computing resources and decision-making power; the middle tier, the “Adapters,” provides technical services; and the lower tier, the “Disconnected,” is confined to the old city, where they perform manual labor. The city relies on a “geothermal energy converter” for power, and its core technology is exclusively controlled by the Genesis Group. A hidden flaw in the technology is causing the Earth’s crust to slowly destabilize.
