Do Not Disturb the Ghosts: Hitting the Underworld’s KPIs

On the day product manager Lu Xiaofan is laid off, he happens to use a little “user-centric thinking” to soothe a furious female ghost trapped in a mirror. He never expects this to bind him to the Underworld's KPI System, turning him into an “outsourced employee” serving both the living and the dead. His assignment: lead Leng Qingqiu, a talisman-loving shut-in demoted to the mortal world, and Cai Bubai, a former finance whiz with a knack for saying the worst possible thing, in setting up an “Underworld Office in the Mortal Realm.” Their job is to deal with all kinds of unruly “ghost” users. From anxious ghost parents trapped in school-district housing, to an old-fashioned spirit-writing ghost who insists on scaring people the traditional way, to burned-out ghost employees who can't keep up with the competition at a viral haunted house... Lu Xiaofan's solution is always the same: “Hey, why don't we talk about your user experience?” But as their business keeps growing, they suddenly discover a shocking loophole hidden behind the strict KPI system, one powerful enough to upend the balance between the living and the dead... See how a product manager carves out a path to success in the ghost world with PowerPoint and a silver tongue, and, while he's at it, gets the Underworld's KPIs under control!
