Chen Mo’s assassin character, Shadowblade, is repeatedly killed and stripped of his gear by the number-one player on the server, Thunder War God, in Zero Realm. He is also cornered by Thunder War God’s guild, the Temple of War, and has no choice but to delete his character. With nowhere else to turn, he tries an unpopular random class and triggers the one-in-ten-thousand chance to unlock the hidden class Shadow Walker. He gains exclusive skills such as “Void Concealment” and “Energy Devour,” takes the name Nightshade, and dives back into the game.
In the beginner village, he rescues Su Mu, a priest from the Guardian Alliance, and drives off members of the Temple of War. He then joins the guild, receives equipment from its vice leader, Feng Yu, and gets guidance from the veteran assassin Can Ying. From grinding levels in the Misty Forest to preparing for a dungeon in Thunder City, Chen Mo is no longer fighting just for revenge. He wants to make a name for himself in Zero Realm alongside his new companions, relying on the unique abilities of the Shadow Walker, and ultimately face Thunder War God in the arena to write a legend of his own as Nightshade.
