Cool, straightforward, and occasionally adorably clueless merfolk bottom (a cute baby with a poker face) VS steady, powerful, and occasionally mischievous nine-tailed fox top
In the Black Tide Era, when pollution devours the world, even breathing is taxed.
Ling, a merfolk descendant who awakens from the deep sea, carries the last spark of a civilization on the brink of annihilation: the Pure Abyss Codex. With his untainted body, he walks through the desperate wasteland. His silver hair and blue eyes mark him as someone who does not belong in this polluted world.
His unusual nature catches the attention of Mo Xuan, the “Blazing Fox.” A powerful nine-tailed fox specially recruited by the military, he is strong and lazy, with an almost pathological obsession with cleanliness and a pair of crimson-gold demon eyes that can see right through people. Sent by the military to assess this mysterious purifier, he approaches Ling with suspicion and calculation.
But when the silver-haired young man, whose scent is impossibly pure, brushes past him in a tavern, Mo Xuan's heart stirs. And when the seemingly cold and distant merfolk displays a fierceness and decisiveness in battle that sharply contrast with his pristine appearance, Mo Xuan realizes that his long-frozen heart has cracked for the first time, stirred by something called “interest.”
From testing each other as pieces on a chessboard to standing back to back, entrusting each other with their lives; from “accidental” gifts to wholehearted devotion. In this land steeped in despair, how will the purest essence and the most bewitching foxfire draw each other in, save one another, and tear open this dark age together?
“I'm Mo Xuan. Your purification is beautiful.”
“…Ling.”
The author is a little good-for-nothing and has hit a creative bottleneck. Please don't read this for now, everyone. I'll say so in the synopsis once it's been revised.
