The Red House was a school for the children of migrant workers in Dujia'ao Town, Hai'an City at the beginning of this century. It was originally a village-run enterprise in the village. Later, the enterprise moved to the city's industrial park, and the red building was leased to Mr. Wei as a school. This production building, whose exterior walls are entirely painted in ocher red, is a five-story building covering an area of nearly 20,000 square meters. It is called the "Red Building" by the locals because it stands so eye-catchingly among the surrounding farmhouses. There are dozens of factory buildings on each floor of the Red Building, and an activity space the size of a basketball court is formed in the middle. After being used as a school, each floor is used as classrooms, teacher dormitories, canteens, logistics warehouses and student dining areas. The more than ten acres of land in front of the building has been built into a basketball court, with walls erected around it and gates and gate posts built. The Red Building has since become a nearly closed teaching and living space. The story unfolds in the life and emotions of various characters in the Red Mansion, including principals and teachers, teachers and teachers, principals and vice-principals, and Mr. Wei's family, conflicts and entanglements of interests and gains and losses, and love and hatred.
