Synopsis of Nine Divine Corpses of Jiuzhou
Core Premise:
The world's foundation is not a continent, but the remains of nine ancient deities that fell from the stars and were refined into land by a supreme being. They are the source of the Jiuzhou world, as well as a hidden threat capable of destroying it.
How the Story Begins:
When the eternal inscriptions sealing the will of the divine corpses are accidentally deciphered, all nine awaken at once. The continent of Jiuzhou is no longer a lifeless land. It begins to "come alive" as the body of a giant god: mountains become limbs, rivers surge with divine blood, and metal and stone reshape themselves according to ancient memories. The world is turning back into what it was at the beginning, and what is most dangerous.
The Protagonist's Path:
Mo Yuan, an ordinary prospector, unexpectedly becomes the inheritor of the Ninth Divine Corpse, the Xuzhou Corpse, amid the upheaval. He is no longer mortal. He is the key, the vessel, and the divine corpse's returning original consciousness. He must find a balance between his humanity and the divinity awakening within him. Coveted by various factions and threatened by the inheritors of the other divine corpses, he must find a way for the divine corpses and all living beings to coexist.
The World at Large:
The nine divine corpses each have different attributes, and their inheritors hold entirely different beliefs and desires. Some yearn to devour their kind and reclaim the divine throne. Others intend to purify everything and return the world to its "proper course." Meanwhile, forces lurking in the shadows of history seek to regain control of these nine powers of annihilation. The war between inheritors is the creation war of a new world.
