On April 18, 1942, the B-25 fleet led by Doolittle dropped a revenge bomb over Tokyo - those 13 minutes that changed history, starting this saga of life and death across the Pacific. Five US military pilots who crashed in Ningbo were rescued by Chinese villager Ah Fu at the risk of death. In order to escort the Allied forces, the young boy Xiaodouzi fired a grenade and died with the enemy, while the mute woodcutter used his life to lure away the pursuers. The Japanese army launched a crazy retaliation, and 250,000 civilians in the Quzhou area paid the price with their lives. When pilot Jack chose to join the Flying Tigers to continue fighting, and when Ah Fu swore in the fire that "this account must be settled," the fate of the two nations was closely linked. In 2015, Tom's son returned to Quzhou with his father's bamboo cigarette case, and embraced Ah Fu, who was in his nineties, at the Martyrs Cemetery.
