Terraria is an ancient and flourishing continent, home to countless civilizations, all kinds of races, and breathtaking landscapes. Everything is orderly and harmonious, until one day Cthulhu arrives and ushers in an era of chaos. Cthulhu brings darkness and bloodshed to the land of Terraria. Countless civilizations collapse, countless races perish, and only fragments of their stories remain. Just as Cthulhu is about to rule the world, the ancient Dryad race steps forward, joining forces with every living thing across Terraria and wielding the power of nature to fight back. Countless heroes sacrifice themselves, and the Dryads are nearly wiped out... Just as Cthulhu is about to enslave the world, a human known as the Guide steps forward: he fuses the souls of light and darkness with his own flesh and blood, forges a blasphemous spear from a god’s flesh and blood, and faces a god in a mortal body! The earth-shaking battle lasts for centuries. No one else can take part, or even watch, this madness-inducing war... The Guide ultimately defeats Cthulhu, but his soul has already become entwined with Cthulhu’s. He gains Cthulhu’s power, but is also afflicted by Cthulhu’s curse. By then, nearly all the companions who once fought at his side are dead, and the once-flourishing civilizations have either vanished or hidden beneath the deep sea and jungle, their whereabouts unknown. The new generation of living beings knows only to fear him. After enduring the world’s indifference and the torment of time, the hero becomes an empty shell and eventually retreats into seclusion.
What kind of ending could ever be worthy of all the hardships along this journey?
One day, a girl from another world enters his life, and the two embark on a journey of mutual redemption.
