Hollow Knight: Turning Insects into Citizens

[Transmigrated in body + no System + slow burn, with careful attention to detail]

In the wilderness far away, they will speak your name with reverence and sorrow.

No one could soothe our furious souls, yet you took up the challenge.

Under the palest gaze, you taught us and changed us. Our instincts were redeemed.

You brought insects and beasts a world they never could have dreamed of.

You gave us precious dreams, and kept on giving.

But you were dismayed to discover that our desires had no end. By then, it was too late.

What would it cost to soothe our anger? You gave everything you had, yet never stopped.

But our desires could not be quelled, and more dreams drained your strength.

From them came a terrible disaster,

which roused our fighting instincts once more,

turning us back into beasts and husks.

Our souls were devoured by the light above our heads.

Even in your corpse, the sound of accusation still echoed,

and the one who spoke soothed our pain, made up for our losses, and took his own dream away...

From his suffering, we saw a truth we had to acknowledge,

for only perfect emptiness could contain it.
