I Was Just Making a Movie, So Why Did It Turn Into a Military Exercise?

After transmigrating to a parallel world, Cheng Zhou became an assistant director at the August First Film Studio. Watching the ridiculous anti-Japanese war dramas on screen, with scenes like “tearing Japanese soldiers apart with bare hands” and “hiding a land mine in your pants,” he was furious but powerless to do anything about it. Then the head of the directing department unexpectedly offered him a chance to make a “decent, by-the-book” anti-Japanese war drama. Just as he was fretting over not having a good script, he suddenly realized that this world had no Bright Sword! The moment he rejected the awful script, his god-tier all-rounder System activated: master-level directing skills and the complete Bright Sword script were delivered at once. When a popular young idol joined the production with an investor backing him, Cheng Zhou shot back on the spot: “If you’re worried about your idol image, stay away from anti-Japanese war dramas!” When the line “Open fire!” rang out across the country and state media praised him by name, Cheng Zhou smiled at the top of the trending charts: a great work is still at its peak when it returns. It never needs traffic to prop it up!
