I Took Winter Break and Ranked Tenth in Global High Martial Arts

Winter break, 2026. The world undergoes a cataclysmic change!

One percent of the global population awakens, and the era of advanced martial arts begins!!

Gu Fengchun, 21, is an ordinary graduate student in history from Longguo, who travels to Kyoto, Dongying, to conduct academic research. He should have had nothing to do with flashing blades, but in the alleys of the ancient city, he faces the first life-or-death crisis of his life, and meets her.

Chiba Sakura, 18, is the eldest daughter of an ancient martial arts family in Kyoto, a peerless swordswoman hailed as an A-rank genius. On that snowy night, she appeared as suddenly as a cherry blossom, her frost-cold sword saving him from certain death. Her sharp, disdainful gaze and the cherry blossom tucked in her hair were etched into his destiny forever.

By a twist of fate, an ancient talent slumbering within Gu Fengchun awakens. Guided by Chiba Sakura, whose manner is half coldness and half resignation, he enters a real world woven from the dust of history and the force of the sword. With his pen as his sword and history as his guide, he will find his own path amid the martial arts traditions of two great civilizations.

From clumsy training at a Kyoto dojo to peak clashes on the global battlefield. Three years later, during winter break, he will make his way into the world’s top ten under the name Gu Fengchun. Yet his ultimate choice is to leave her behind and travel to Mount Olympus on Mars, where he gazes out at the brilliant stars, all of them mere illusions.

This is a legend that begins during winter break, the story of a historian who wields civilization as his sword and joins his cherry-blossom sword maiden in reaching the pinnacle of the world.
