In the near future, memories can be retrieved and stored. Ling Chen, the top "memory recycler", was commissioned by an anonymous and large sum of money to set foot on an abandoned memory storage island code-named "Forgotten Reef" to find the last memory fragments of his late lover Han Qing. This isolated island is shrouded in mysterious whale song signals, distorting the boundaries between reality and memory. Ling Chen must fight against the out-of-control data storm on the island and his own dusty inner trauma, but in the process of pursuing the truth, he gradually uncovers a secret that is far crueler than he imagined. That whale song is both an elegy and a key to the past that he dare not touch.
