A New Qin: Power and Intrigue

Lu Han transmigrates to the Qin dynasty and becomes an unfavored prince. The old aristocratic factions, led by the chancellor, fear their interests will be harmed and obstruct him at every turn. Meanwhile, war on the frontier is reaching a crisis point, and Qin is in danger. Lu Han must unite the various factions in a short time and deal with threats both within and beyond the borders. As he pushes for legal reforms, he faces a dilemma: should he uphold modern principles of law, or compromise with the old aristocracy? At the same time, the rigid hierarchy and aristocratic exclusion limit his actions. Some of his allies misunderstand him over matters of self-interest, while the wavering attitude of others leaves him torn over which side to choose. Though Lu Han ultimately succeeds in implementing reforms and stabilizing Qin, he loses a close friend in the power struggle, making his victory bittersweet.
