My Stepmom Is a Cockroach!

Fantasy + open ending + family bonds

My name is Xu Yi. When I was in elementary school, my mom started a new family, and after that, my dad became a single father. Then, when I came home for winter break in my first year of high school, I found that I had a stepmother! But why wasn't my stepmother human? She was a cockroach!

Honestly, I don't care that much about things like that. I think as long as everyone's happy, what's the point of making each other miserable every day? Chen Wei can make me mad when he insults me, so I can't blame my parents for trading insults when they hate each other. I don't hold anything against anyone, and I support them getting remarried. In fact, I even praise my parents for doing so!

I spent all of middle school urging my dad to find someone new. “Go find someone! I'm almost in high school, and I'll be living in the school dorms in the city. I won't get in your way. My new mom and you will have your own space, without me around.” But nothing ever came of it. Dad even scolded me, saying he was sick of me nagging him. I was just worried he'd get too old to find anyone! Dad doesn't understand me!

When I started high school, I worried about Dad being lonely while I studied. I never imagined I wouldn't feel that way in college. That's because my stepmother is a cockroach, and by the time I got to college, the house was full of my cockroach brothers and sisters. There wasn't even room to stand... I really don't hate my stepmother, but I'm genuinely scared now.
