Lu Xingyao, formerly an overworked office drone in the sciences and now a bankrupt lord in another world, faces a classic predicament from the start: his parents are dead, creditors are at his door, his people are starving, and he has the face of a "cursed child." It's hell difficulty.
But he's perfectly calm. After all, his experience making PowerPoints and dealing with idiot bosses is far more useful than facing a few medieval nobles. He has no magical talent? No problem. He can use the logic of Five Years of Exams, Three Years of Practice to break down forbidden spells, and optimize fireball magic with Maxwell's equations. While others chant for ages to conjure a tiny spark, he casually fires a plasma cannon.
Then he finds a severely injured, amnesiac man in the wilderness, so devastatingly handsome it's almost unfair. The man is a powerhouse and incredibly knowledgeable, but the way he looks at Lu Xingyao grows more and more peculiar by the day.
Lu Xingyao gets rich with scientific pig farming and smelts steel in magical blast furnaces, all while happily enjoying the view. He thinks he's picked up a top-tier fighter and a pretty face, but when the man regains his memories, the first thing he says is:
"I'm the empire's Fifth Prince. My dear older brother is sending troops to kill you."
Lu Xingyao looks at the magic-powered locomotive he's just built and his newly established "Tower of Truth," then sighs.
"Your Highness, how about a deal? You go back to the palace and fight for the throne, while I work on my technology here. Let's attack this outdated old world from both sides and 'optimize' it. What do you say?"
