On the Xuanyuan Continent, where the strong reign supreme, Lin Yu, an outer disciple of the Lin family with mediocre talent, is seen by everyone as a good-for-nothing. For years, he suffers abuse and contempt from his own family. Then, by chance, he discovers the ancient secret art Chaos Heaven-Devouring Art in an abandoned library pavilion. He also learns that he possesses a Chaos Spirit Root, a gift unseen in a million years. Chosen by the remnant soul of the ancient Chaos Martial Emperor, he sets out to defy fate and change his destiny.

At the brink of despair, the Chaos Spirit Pearl unleashes its divine power, helping him transform into the Chaos War God and defeat his powerful foes, earning the reverence of countless people.
But the Xuanyuan Continent is not the end. Learning that the wider universe holds endless secrets and even mightier beings, Lin Yu rides the Chaos Spirit Pearl into the unknown depths of space, continuing his legendary journey.
