All "misses" are due to objective reality, life choices and timing deviations, rather than "misunderstandings" due to human suspicion, third party intervention or poor communication. The two protagonists have always trusted and loved each other deeply, but at the crossroads of life they took the initiative to "let go" for each other's sake. Finally, they reunited at the top and fulfilled their youthful promise.
