Fantasy + criminal investigation + urban life + technology (no rebirth, no System)
Have you ever wondered where the immortals from myths and legends, who could move mountains, drain seas, summon wind, and command rain, are today?
They haven't disappeared. They've simply found a new way to live among us.
As the Heavenly Dao turns and eras change, the gods have entered their "new normal." To preserve their divine status and better understand and serve this age, the Celestial Court has introduced a "divine rotation program in the mortal world." Every deity must periodically descend to live and work among humans, experiencing the hardships of everyday life.
So the colleague beside you who squeezes onto the subway every day and complains about KPIs might once have been a river god who ruled over a stretch of water. The influencer downstairs, obsessed with livestreaming and always making a racket, might be the Thunder God in a new mortal identity. And that kind old woman who runs a sweet soup shop seems to have a touch of Lady Meng's legendary skill in making soup.
The immortals hide their identities so they can enjoy some peace and quiet. But when gods and humans, demons and immortals share the same world, friction and disputes are inevitable. Uncontrolled divine powers, exposed identities, cross-realm disputes... These "unusual" incidents need an "ordinary" agency to handle them.
And so the "Three Realms Joint Office for Peace and Development" came into being. The name under which it is registered in the mortal world might be "Community Mutual Aid Center" or "Special Affairs Coordination Bureau," but internally, it goes by a much older and more straightforward name: the "Otherworldly Affairs Office."
This is the Celestial Court's grassroots office in the mortal world.
