Meng Yancheng's Girlfriend Is Xu Yan, and Fu Wenying Approves

[Meng Yancheng x Xu Yan]

[An adorable schemer with a knack for playing the innocent x a levelheaded, self-possessed modern Chinese-style CEO]

[Fanfiction + redemption + OOC warning]

For the first twenty years of her life, Xu Yan was completely overshadowed by her older sister, Xu Qin.

Meng Yancheng is the pride of the Meng family, a self-disciplined CEO who always follows the rules. He was drawn to Xu Qin the moment he saw the Xu sisters at the hospital after the fire.

Their relationship takes a turn when Xu Qin gets together with Song Yan.

Xu Yan hides her innocent nature and learns to use underhanded tactics to take back the resources that were originally hers from Xu Qin.

Meng Yancheng suddenly realizes that there’s a hidden gem right beside him. When Yan Yan needs sponsorship, he steps in. When she likes roses, he sends them every day, spoiling her absolutely rotten.

Their long companionship slowly turns into habit and dependence without either of them realizing it.

Gradually, they both reveal the darkness inside themselves.

The Shen family looks down on Xu Yan, but after the show airs, Yu Lan tries to ingratiate herself with her.

Shen Haoming is nothing more than a smokescreen, meant to keep Fu Wenying from finding out that he likes Meng Yancheng.

After leaving the Meng family, Xu Qin finally gets to experience what it’s like to have a “home.” She begins to regret her choice, and when she goes looking for Meng Yancheng, she wants things to go back to how they were.

But it’s too late. Fu Wenying has already accepted Xu Yan as her daughter-in-law.

Memorable scene:

Inside a Bentley

Xu Yan presses a finger to his lips. “No, someone might take a picture.”

Meng Yancheng reclines the passenger seat. “This way, no one will find out.”

He takes off his suit jacket and drapes it over them both.

The air beneath it grows warm.

After a splash of water, Xu Yan’s eyes fill with tears. “We can’t keep going...”

Meng Yancheng composes himself and returns to the driver’s seat. “Let’s go home and continue.”
