The story takes place in the fictional city of Wangchuan. Three ordinary people came together because of different grievances - Lu Xiaodou because of family feud, Gu Jinghe because of the dispute over the academy's orthodoxy, and Fang Gaozi because of the suffering of his relatives. They formed a team by chance and gradually formed a tacit understanding from accidental collisions. However, they were also struggling due to the goal of revenge. Stratagems, conspiracies, misunderstandings and comedy are intertwined. Jin Qiaoshou, Sun Tiebei and others are involved on both sides. The main plot of revenge is undercurrent, and multiple story lines are independent and echoing. In the end, the three of them not only completed their revenge but also reinvented themselves in a ridiculous and hilarious struggle between the rivers and lakes, and realized the true meaning of hatred.
