Undercover from the Start? Too Bad I Got a Warlord’s Script

A corporate drone from the 21st century wakes up as a low-level gangster in Hong Kong in 1995.

The good news: He has a golden finger that lets him see through every disguise.

The bad news: He's an undercover cop. His superior treats him as expendable, and the boss treats him like a crop to be harvested.

His handler says, “A-Luo, just one more meritorious deed and you can come back to the force.”

I look at the [empty promises] [using you] over his head and silently give him a thumbs-up.

The boss says, “A-Luo, you're the brother I trust most.”

I look at the [murderous intent] [silencing you] over his head and smile as I raise my glass.

Later, his handler is dismissed and the boss is brought to justice. By the time everyone catches on, Chen Luo is already standing at the top of Hong Kong.
