Synopsis of City Night Watchman
Beneath the neon lights of a bustling city lie countless hidden corners. While sorting through his late grandfather’s belongings, Chen Mo, an ordinary office worker, unexpectedly inherits an ancient text called The Green Satchel Needle Canon. From then on, he possesses both remarkable medical skills and a quiet mastery of martial arts.
By day, he is an unremarkable employee who follows the rules. By night, he becomes the “City Night Watchman,” using silver needles to save people in danger and his inner strength to punish evildoers, quietly protecting the city’s peace. Word of his good deeds spreads among the public, but he also faces doubts because he has “no medical license,” drawing the attention of Zhao Kun, a vice president at a pharmaceutical company.
To monopolize the profits from a new drug, Zhao Kun is willing to suppress anyone who stands in his way and engage in illegal experiments. Forced to protect the innocent, Chen Mo is drawn into a dangerous struggle with him. Along the way, he goes from clashing with Su Qing, an emergency room doctor devoted to modern medicine, to understanding her. He also receives discreet help from Lao Zhou, a retired criminal police officer.
Faced with suspicion, framing, and threats of kidnapping, Chen Mo stays true to his original purpose, combining traditional medicine with modern science. In the city’s dark nights, he opens a path to the light, ultimately exposing the conspiracy and bringing the guilty to justice, while finding his own purpose in life.
