Gadget Malfunction: Nobita Will Be a Girl for the Rest of His Life

As usual, Nobita Nobi causes one mishap after another on the baseball field. He misses a hit and gets struck out. Gian glares at him as his fists rain down, and Nobita can only cover his head and take the beating. On the way home from school, dogs bark behind him, and Nobita runs for his life, utterly miserable. When he gets home, his mother is waiting with another furious lecture because he got zero marks on his test. Feeling completely wronged, Nobita slumps to the floor and sighs, “Why is being a boy so exhausting!” Suddenly, an innocent yet absurd thought flashes through his mind: he wants to experience what it feels like to be a girl. As it happens, Shizuka has always wondered what it would be like to be a boy, too. Seeing this, Doraemon takes a body-swapping rope from his fourth-dimensional pocket, a forbidden gadget from the 22nd century. The swap goes incredibly smoothly, and Nobita and Shizuka both immerse themselves in each other’s lives. But when they try to switch back, something goes wrong. The body-swapping rope suddenly malfunctions. Doraemon hurriedly calls the Future Department Store, only to receive a cruel answer: production of this gadget has been completely banned, and there are no replacements in stock. The two can only stare at each other, overcome by endless panic.
