Illuminating the Cold Abyss

They say the Cold Abyss cannot be illuminated.

I’ll be the bright moon that breaks through the clouds.

They say women should stay quietly in their inner quarters.

I’ll make the name “Qingwu” shake the imperial court.

From the startling strings of the qin to wielding the brush to debate state affairs,

from the dark of the inner chambers to the heart of political intrigue,

the road Shen Qingci walks

will make her doubters see clearly:

women can do more than illuminate the Cold Abyss;

they can reshape the world itself.
