The sparks of conflict between zombies, mutated species, and genetically altered cyborgs
Nuclear blasts and biochemical disasters tore civilization apart. On a wasteland blanketed in radioactive dust, steel coexisted with mutated life, and humanity split into five factions amid the ruins: Steel Reconstructors stitched flesh together with machinery, Hive Symbiotes bonded with insect genes, Beast Mutants awakened their primal instincts, Fungal Symbiotes used fungi to resist corruption, and Original Survivors clung to their purity through natural evolution.
As the factions fought endlessly over resources, the strictly hierarchical Corruption Legion had already begun weaving its web of puppetry in secret. D-rank Rot Mothers assimilated weak-minded creatures; C-rank Cluster Mothers laid regional slaughter traps; B-rank Domain Mothers devised hunting strategies; and A-rank Cardinal Mothers used their extraordinary intelligence to command entire armies, driving humanity to the brink of extinction. Even more terrifying, the legendary S-rank Origin Core Mother, hidden in a radiation exclusion zone, was releasing its chaotic will through "consciousness anchors," distorting the laws of physics and devouring fragments of civilization.
Scavengers' wrenches clashed with the mechs of the augmented, while the shrieks of the hives and the roars of the beast mutants mingled into a battle hymn. In this ultimate struggle between steel and flesh, mutation and humanity, will factional infighting continue, or will the factions set aside their disputes and unite against the evil at the root of it all? Before the last rays of light at rust-red dusk are swallowed by shadow, some take up broken machines, some awaken their genes, and some bond with fungi. Above the ruins, they will fight to open up a slim chance for humanity's rebirth.
