The Immortal Venerable’s Spirit Plants Are Chatterboxes

The thousand-year-old peony Hua Zhuo had cultivated for ages and was on the verge of surviving the tribulation to take human form, but the aloof Immortal Venerable Ling Shuang mistook him for an “immortal herb” and yanked him up by the roots. His transformation failed, leaving him a potted plant.

“Immortal Venerable, you got the wrong one! I'm a flower spirit, not a medicinal herb!”

“...”

Who is Ling Shuang? The leader of the righteous path and sect master of the Tianxuan Sect, an icy mountain who hasn't smiled in a thousand years. Yet this talking flower manages to crack his composure:

While flying on his sword, the flowerpot shouts, “This is so bumpy! Put a cloth under me!”

While facing off against enemies, the flowerpot urges him on: “Get him! You're so terrible with words, and you're a sect master?”

When his cold poison flares up, the flowerpot leans close. “Don't move. I'll give you a bit of my vitality. Remember, you owe me one!”

From the sect to the secret realms, from the first clues about the “Source of Withering” to uncovering a shocking conspiracy sweeping the cultivation world, Hua Zhuo uses his unstoppable chatter and his golden finger, which lets him control vitality, to smash Ling Shuang's “aloof persona” to pieces. He goes from an ornamental plant to the Immortal Venerable's indispensable, god-tier support.

“Immortal Venerable, if you can't beat them, call me! My trash talk can knock villains unconscious, and my vitality can bring you back from the brink!”

Ling Shuang says nothing, but draws the flowerpot closer to his chest. When his fingertips brush the petals, even his chill softens by a third.

When the thousand-year-old flower spirit finally takes human form, Ling Shuang looks at the young man clinging to his side. For the first time, his cool voice carries a hint of helplessness. “Where are you going?”

Hua Zhuo hooks a finger around his sleeve and grins slyly. “To be your one and only ZT, and stay by your side to protect the cultivation world!”
