The wildly popular VR game Classic of Mountains and Seas recreates ancient mythology so faithfully that its underlying framework resonates with real-world seals, making it an ideal “training ground” and “vessel for power.”
Lin Mo's father encodes the family's inherited, genuine “totem master” power onto a USB drive using advanced technology, then gives it to Lin Mo with bloodline and age requirements for unlocking it.
Afterward, he heads to a certain “front line” to investigate or reinforce a seal, and mysteriously disappears.
With his father's help, Lin Mo explores Classic of Mountains and Seas and searches for him, uncovering a huge secret behind the game.
In ancient times, mountain and sea monsters invaded the real world and were sealed away by mighty beings. But the seals are not permanent. They weaken with each passing cycle.
His father, a top archaeologist and researcher of the occult, discovered through his studies that the cycle was about to begin again.
