After sleeping for nearly a thousand years, Mo Li wakes to find himself in an unfamiliar meadow. Apart from the broken sword in his hand and the blue-haired girl with a jellyfish-shaped hairstyle named Furina, who found him, he can't remember anything about his past.
By a twist of fate, Mo Li saves Furina from monsters and learns that she is the deity of a nation called Fontaine.
At Furina's invitation, Mo Li then goes to the Court of Fontaine and becomes a housekeeper at Palais Mermonia, responsible for looking after Furina's day-to-day needs.
