Ling Yupeng, an avid angler, was heading to a secret fishing spot, hoping for a huge catch in the dead of night. But when a truck went out of control, he and his car plunged into the river beneath a bridge spanning two banks. As he lay dying, he didn’t think of his family or closest friends. His mind was filled with unopened earthworms and his vow to land a huge catch. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a modified sci-fi version of Terraria, with a holographic panel before him bearing the tags “Quantum Detection” and “World Transmigration.”
Starting from the start with only three battered tools, a wooden axe, a wooden pickaxe, and a shovel, he faces hopping blue Slimes, zombies after dark, and the Eye of Cthulhu hovering in the sky. A fisherman long accustomed to coming home empty-handed brings his patience and grit in waiting for a bite to another world: he digs deep pits to “bury himself and find peace” until night raids pass, chops down pine trees to build a crude cabin, takes on elite monsters with a mere five strength, and searches the depths of caves for evolution crystals that can massively boost his stats.
After he uses his wooden axe to drive off the Eye of Cthulhu and picks up the Crimson Ore and Treasure Bag it drops, he discovers an unstable rift at the end of a cave, leading to Genshin Impact’s world. Meanwhile, a pair of greedy eyes in the plains and forests and a green-robed figure whispering atop the World Tree are quietly fixing their gaze on this “otherworldly hero.” But Ling Yupeng’s goal has never changed: first, establish a foothold in the perilous world of Terraria, then find himself the ultimate fishing spot and fulfill his unkept promise of a huge catch.
