I Keep a Diary and Am Bound to the Herrscher of the End

My name is Lin Ye, a struggling web novelist barely scraping by in the city. My ability is pretty bizarre: instead of fighting and leveling up, I can get stronger by keeping a diary. As long as what I write moves my target, I can gain their power.

I thought I'd spend my life scraping together a living by writing gossip, until one day, Kiana, the Herrscher of Finality from another world, appeared before me, bringing the despair of an impending apocalypse. With a casual wave of her hand, half the city was reduced to ruins.

Faced with certain death, I pulled out my diary. Other people fight world-ending villains with divine artifacts and immortal arts. I fight them with a few heartfelt words! I wrote about her mentor Himeko's sacrifice, her close friend Mei's tears, and the deepest pain and loneliness in her heart...

Sure enough, she stopped. The killing intent in her eyes gave way to something impossibly complicated.

And so began the strangest cohabitation in history. By day, I was her personal “recorder.” At night, I made use of her Herrscher powers to become a rising star in the underworld. The diary entries I wrote began as cold records, then turned into a future full of possibilities that I was weaving for her.

But the worlds were merging faster, and forces from every side were watching us like hawks. They all wanted me to hand her over in exchange for so-called peace.

Until the day the whole world stood against us. I tore up the final ultimatum and pointed my bloodstained pen at the heavens.

“In my diary, I'm the one who decides how your story ends.”

“This time, I'm writing: A miracle will come.”
