This world is known as the Mortal Domain. On the surface, it is an ordinary human world, where cities and countryside follow the usual rules of society. Most people have no idea that “vein energy” or “evil beings” even exist.
In the shadows, a select few can channel the vein energy of heaven and earth. The Shen family has passed down the role of “Vein Guardians” for generations. Their bloodline is linked to spirit veins, and they bear the responsibility of protecting the Mortal Domain, making them prey for evil beings.
Evil beings pour in through “extraterritorial rifts,” feeding on vital essence and vein energy. Their leader, “Black Impermanence,” commands the forces of darkness. His “Shadow Guards” are corrupted and fallen vein-art practitioners, and they are plotting to taint the spirit veins and open more portals between worlds.
Beyond the Mortal Domain lie three other realms: the Spirit Vein Realm, the source of vein energy and the keeper of the Vein Guardians’ secrets; the Broken Vein Abyss, where the laws of nature are shattered and evil beings multiply; and the Guixu Realm, which connects the Mortal Domain to the Immortal Realm. Its barriers, strengthened by an ancient war, can only be broken by the Star Lock of Calamity Suppression.
The scars of the Immortal Realm have yet to fade. When Lin Che fell, the energy released tore through the boundary between worlds, sending his remnant soul and the Star Lock crashing into the Mortal Domain. Evil beings from the Immortal Realm took the opportunity to infiltrate it and join forces with those already there. Even ordinary people caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life could be swept into the undercurrents at any turn, becoming an unforeseen factor that tips the balance.
