Shen Ce rushed home through the night, only to find his elder brother's cold body.
He kicked aside his sister-in-law, kneeling in the mourning hall in plain white funeral clothes, her delicate frame like a willow and her brows dark as ink. He raised his sword and cut into her thin shoulder, his murderous intent suddenly flaring. "Someone, throw this shameless woman out!"
Later, she quietly moved into a coffin shop and never got in his way. He still despised her.
Later still, he realized she was actually somewhat useful. He also discovered that she seemed to have a crush on him. Fine, then. He would do as his elder brother had said and give her a place to stay!
Finally, he learned that she wasn't really his widowed sister-in-law, and she hadn't been secretly in love with him either!
"This shameless woman, who throws herself at any man, makes me sick!"
"So your husband doesn't catch your eye?"
Heroine: I'm no delicate queen. I can carry coffins and cremated remains, ride horses, and shoot arrows. I'm good at all of it!
