Final Echo: When the Forbidden Sequence Was Revealed

"Terminal Echo: When the Forbidden Sequence Was Leaked" tells the suspenseful growth story of Lin Mo, the archivist of the Steam Age. When he burned the forbidden files, he triggered the mysterious pocket watch and became involved in the "Forbidden Sequence" serial murder case. He discovered that every deceased person had the same pocket watch embedded in his body, and he was actually the "Lamp Bearer" of Sequence 7. He had to go back in time to solve the case and stay alive, at the cost of his body gradually becoming mechanized. As the investigation deepens, Lin Mo forms a temporary alliance with Su Wanqing, an ancient book restorer who has the ability to "weave life", and Zhao Tieshan, a hot-tempered police detective, to uncover the truth about the "Great Purge" of 1899 - the so-called extraordinary sequence is actually an experimental product of the "Terminal Echo" project. Every case hides anomalies in time: a watchmaker's heart is changed into gears, an opera actress ages instantly, and train passengers die repeatedly. The true identity of the mysterious villain "Clockmaker" actually points to Lin Mo's tampered childhood memories. The story unfolds in the form of a unit drama, with one case in every 8 chapters. The clues of the cases connect the organizational game between the "Chronological Society" to protect the order and the "Secret Eater" to plunder the power. Lin Mo struggles between the loss of humanity and the revelation of the truth: when time becomes a prison, the price of holding a lamp to illuminate the darkness may be to make himself the prisoner who needs redemption most. In the end, he must choose between "restarting the timeline" and "destroying the sequence system", and deep in the pocket watch, the true purpose of "Final Echo" begins to emerge.
