The Heavenly Pearl of the Prison

In the Immortal Realm, beyond the Zixiao Heavenly Palace, clouds churned and rosy light shattered.

"Xuantian! Hand over the Heavenly Prison Pearl and surrender! We may yet spare a wisp of your soul!" The purple-robed Immortal Emperor at the head of the group spoke with a voice like a tolling bell, making the clouds around them surge violently. Beside him, immortal light in red, green, white, and black intertwined. The other Immortal Emperors glared furiously, their eyes brimming with killing intent.

"A pack of traitors!" Emperor Xuantian's voice was icy. "This pearl is the foundation of my rule over the Immortal Realm. Why would I hand it over to you? Your closest kin are imprisoned inside it. Dare you destroy it?"...

A pitch-black rift appeared out of thin air before him, space currents within it stirring dread. Emperor Xuantian suddenly hurled the Heavenly Prison Pearl into the rift and laughed wildly. "The pearl will be lost in the mortal world, where no one will find it for billions of years! You will never save your loved ones!"...

The nine Immortal Emperors watched the rift in space slowly close, their faces ashen. They had never expected Xuantian to be so ruthless as to cast the Heavenly Prison Pearl into the lower realm. The rift led to the mortal world below, a place with scant spiritual energy and incomplete laws. With the pearl's power, once it fell into the mortal world, it would likely be impossible to find again.
