Gourmet: My Recipes Can Become Reality

Shen Yu was born into a family of chefs with a century-old legacy, yet he had no sense of taste from birth, earning him the title of “family disgrace.” To escape the ridicule in the kitchen, he became a numb office drone.

That was until he bound the [Street Food Stall System].

Every week, the System gave him a mission to sell different foods in various corners of the city: qingtuan at the end of a sakura-lined alley in spring, cold noodles amid the bustle of the night market in summer, fresh-meat mooncakes by the river at Mid-Autumn Festival…

His cooking awakened diners’ most precious memories and earned him the title of “urban legend.” Only after his father, the family’s harshest food critic, finished a bowl of his plain noodles one late night with tears in his eyes did Shen Yu realize that what he could never taste was not flavor, but the human heart.

And behind the System’s missions, a grand tapestry of lost flavors from the cuisine of Huaxia was slowly unfolding.
