The World Behind the Scenes

The jianghu is a stage where a hundred dramas unfold, and life's fleeting clouds are best met with a raised glass. Feng Wangchuan, an easygoing swordsman who had meant to wander the four corners of the world, is unexpectedly drawn into a conspiracy over a stolen golden seal. He joins forces with Mo Linan, a white-clad thief-errant; Sha Xinghe, an unlucky master thief; and Song Yunling, a mysterious poison doctor. As they track down the seal and foil a powerful minister's schemes, they keep stumbling into all manner of strange jianghu affairs. They face courtly turmoil, sect rivalries, invasions from foreign lands, and upheavals at court, using humor and banter to defuse crises while each grows through their adventures. Mu Qianqiu, a player who is sometimes friend and sometimes foe, throws their fates into tumult. The stories of the three gradually converge. Amid the feuds and conflicts, how can truth and justice be reconciled? This tale of dreams, choices, and spiritual redemption is hidden within the jianghu's many comical perils.
