My Boy by the Sea Breeze

That summer, at the height of the season,

he was the brightest light on the basketball court,

and she was the quietest breeze in the stands.

A silent crush was buried deep in the sea of time when he joined the military.

Years later, he traded his white uniform for the black of the special police, sharp as a blade, and returned to his hometown.

Through the haze of youth and time, they met again.

This time, he spoke first: “Su Nianxi, I’m back. This time, I’ll be the one to come to you.”
