The Militia Squad Goes into Battle

I grew up listening to stories about local militia squads fighting the Japanese, and I want to write a wish-fulfillment novel.

A veteran travels back to the eve of the War of Resistance. Starting with just a Mauser pistol, he builds a force, establishes a home, fights the Japanese, protects the villagers, and lives a life of freedom. I want to show why ordinary people of that era kept going, one after another, to kill the Japanese invaders, fight the puppet troops, and wipe out the secret agents. A reminder to cherish the present and never forget history.
