Synopsis of The Memory Key
Memory is both a prison and a key.
Neurosurgeon Su Li accidentally discovers abnormalities in his younger sister Su Tong's brain scans, setting off a crisis in which memory technology spirals out of control. The quantumization of memory chips triggers a time loop, trapping him in his 314th cycle as he gradually awakens the ability known as the "Memory Palace."
Renhe Hospital, the Memory Ark Laboratory, and Incubation Pod Seven form three temporal-spatial anchor points. Piecing together the truth from fragments of memory, Su Li discovers that the founder of CloudTech created the Memory Ark as a prison of time. The clones Lu Shen and A-K, along with the "Cleaners," protect the order that keeps memory monopolized, while the shadow of extraterrestrial civilization looms over human memory.
The liberation of memory breaks the prison of time, and the boundary between reality and virtuality begins to quantumize. Together with his mirror self and the clones, Su Li fights the Cleaners' memory-erasure plan. Deep inside the Memory Palace, he discovers the "Stardust Project" left behind by CloudTech: if extraterrestrial civilization threatens Earth, humanity's consciousness will be uploaded to a quantum network.
When the cracks in a ginkgo-leaf brooch come together to restore a complete memory chip, Su Li awakens the quantum perception of a third eye. At the heart of the Memory Ark, he forms a memory link with extraterrestrial civilization and learns that they, too, are exploring the nature of consciousness. After memory technology is made public, humanity enters a new quantum era, and the City of Memories becomes a bridge connecting different dimensions.
A century later, the memory network links the consciousness of the universe. As a bridge, Su Li bears witness to the ultimate meaning of memory: memory is the product of observing quantum states, both a shackle and a key to liberation. In the corridors of memory, all beings will eventually understand: we are all carriers of memory.
